Lieutenant Greg Malesich
Lt.. Greg Malesich’s career started in 1999 as patrol officer in New Castle County, DE. In 2007, Officer Malesich was hired by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office where he was assigned as a Detective to the Special Investigations Unit (Internal Affairs), the Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Unit (S.A.C.A.) and also the Major Crimes Unit. In 2012, Detective Malesich was hired by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and assigned to the Major Crimes Unit where he continued to investigate homicides, human trafficking, financial crimes, unattended deaths, and reports of child physical and sexual assault.
In April 2018, Detective Malesich was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and assumed supervision of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Scene and High Tech Crimes Units. In March 2021, Sergeant Malesich was transferred to the Special Victims Unit where he works under the Unit’s commander, Lt. Stacie Lick. Sergeant Malesich oversees the four detectives currently assigned to the Special Victims Unit and day to day operation of the Unit. He continues to investigate allegations of child physical and sexual assault when called upon. Sergeant Malesich also serves as Gloucester County’s Child Abduction Response Team (CART) Co-Coordinator and as a liaison for the Office’s Megan’s Law Unit. Since 2013, Sergeant Malesich has been assigned to the FBI’s Philadelphia Division of Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Task Force.
Sergeant Malesich has received advanced training in Major Crimes, High Tech Crimes, Crime Scene and Crimes Against Children. Over the span of his career, Sergeant Malesich has received numerous departmental commendations for his performance as both a patrol officer and as a detective; in 2016, Sergeant Malesich was awarded the first ever Nadine Reese Award by his peers. Sergeant Malesich is a graduate of Rutgers University and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
